meet our baby girl!

i had my sonogram today... the whole time we were in there zach was chanting, "boy, boy, boy, boy..." i wish we had had the camera out when we told him it was a girl! he just burst into tears and said,"no! i wanted a boy! i want a boy!" it was pretty heartbreaking. he got over it pretty quick, though. everything looks good on the sono, if you look really closely at this one of her foot, you can count her 5 toes! i love this one of her face. her features are so clearly there! although i am very excited, i'll admit that i was a little sad that it wasn't another boy. i have a special bond with zach, and wanted another little guy. but, like zach, the feeling quickly passed, and i am so thankful that she is fully formed and healthy!! the Lord has been so gracious to us!

doogoland

today we tried a new place called doogoland. it was pretty fun, the kids enjoyed it a lot. it had several little rooms for the kids to run around and play in- it was good for imaginative play. i don't know that we will go back because it was pretty pricey for just a drop in play time, but since it was so new, we were the only ones there (with my friend lisa and her 2 little ones) so we had the run of the whole place. this is the grocery store room, the kids loved this one. zach went straight for the capri suns!
and my good girl kenzie filled her cart with fruit!
there was a small play area for the 2 and unders... kenzie kissing kyle!
i asked her to go sit by him, but she wanted to pose laying down instead!
molly, kyle, and kenz, driving a plush truck in the baby area.
the little slide in the baby area. she had so much fun chasing kyle around- they went down this slide countless times!
there was a room for dress up and fixing the doll head's hair!
there was a little room up some stairs with a doctor's area (you can see audrey laying on the bed and zach was "giving her a shot" in the background) and doctors coat and all the toys for doctors.
there was also a building area with lots of blocks and construction vests and hats to wear.
there was a fun kitchen area with lots of play food that you could cook and serve to your friends. of course with a chefs hat and coat!
zach and audrey's favorite part were these little ride on things you use your feet to make it go and to steer... they were riding for most of the time!
he loved them!!
there was also a dentist's room, a tea room, a huge slide, a car garage, and some good rooms for parties!

fossil rim wildlife center

well, thankfully brian got this week off, and it has been so great!! he and i started out the week by spending the night in the anatole hotel with a free coupon! then we came back and audrey got some food poisoning from bad chocolate milk that i accidentally left in the fridge. so tuesday was out for doing anything, but then wednesday, we headed to glen rose to visit the fossil rim wildlife center. the kids really loved it. they loved not having to sit in the seatbelts, feeding the animals, and just had fun. at first they were a little scared to feed them, but they warmed up really quickly. the only thing was, the ride is supposed to take 2-3 hours, and it took over 4, because of the spring break crowd. everyone did fine, though, and kenzie finally konked out.

well, audrey had a piano recital on friday night- it was her first time to play a song hands together. we were very proud of her!

and then on another note, (no pun intended) here is a a video of her singing. i'm not sure where she learned the vibrata, but one day in the car she was singing like this, and i decided to get it on video. what do you think, american idol, 2020?

fainting feels weird!

so, my last 2 pregnancies i get really dizzy if i get up too fast. the other morning, brian was shaving in the bathroom, and i was laying in bed not wanting to get up. the urge to use the restroom came on strong (which happens quite frequently these days) so i hopped up and walked into the bathroom. by the time i got in there, however, my vision was already gone, and my body was shaking uncontrollably. brian thought i was doing a crazy dance to make him laugh, until my head hit the wall pretty hard, and the rest of my body began to crumble. thankfully he was in there, because he realized something was wrong, and caught me underneath my arms until i started to come to. it really is the weirdest feeling- i don't know if i am the only one, but my sight goes black, and i shake, and can't control anything. when i was pregnant with makenzie, it also happened, but i was alone with the kids, and i hit my head on a corner in the bathroom and ended up having to get a couple of stitches (my first ones ever, besides the csections!). anyways, i am sure to get up slowly now- i don't want to faint again!

he came home with a dog, but we're not keeping it.

well, brian came home with a dog last night. some one at his work was going to put it on the street, and he just couldn't bear it. he's a very cute little mini yorkie. and he is house trained (except for last night at 3 am.) the owners before us named him whiskey, but we let the kids pick out a new one, so they call him charky (if any of you have seen curious george, you know that charky is the name of george's little dog friend.). he really is a good dog- he hasn't barked or made hardly any noise since he got here. but he did keep us up all night. of course with my pregnancy, i get up 3-4 times a night to use the restroom. so every time i got up, he woke up and then we had to listen to him lick and scratch until we all went back to sleep. the kids really love him, especially makenzie. she adores him. charky, however, prefers brian and i. he'll sit there at our feet and follow us around.

i am so tired this morning, however, i just started crying. everyone wants to keep the dog except me. i think i count the most. things are going to be hard the next few months, with out having to worry about a dog, and if i'll get any sleep! i really feel guilty when i see how the kids are playing with him all morning, and they just really love him. he's a great dog, so i need some reassurance that it is ok to take this away from the kids!! he called, and said the lady that gave it to us had other people that wanted him, so she'd just give him to someone else. oh, the guilt of motherhood.

i never thought i'd say this...

sometimes you can be grateful for things you never thought you'd be grateful for. like milk allergies. let me explain. monday is brian's day off. monday i was not feeling well. so, as the good husband that he is, he played with the kids, and made them lunch. i was laying on the couch, eating the sandwich that he also made me, and the kids were eating at their little table in the kitchen. now let me tell you. my kids love hot sauce. i mean LOVE it. they eat the medium pace picante sauce like it is going out of style. they had a little tupperware full of it, and were going at it. when everyone had finished, i decided to suck it up and try to help pick up the mess, so i picked up the hot sauce, a lingering chip, and took a bite. i almost instantly threw up, because the sauce was rancid. i have no idea how they ate it, it was so gross. i looked at brian and said this is bad, and looked at the kids and said, let me know if your stomach starts hurting. fast forward 8 hours. at bed time, audrey knows how to pull on daddys heartstrings. she and he came out of their room and sat on the couch while i attempted to watch my tivoed episode of the bachelor. brian said that she wasn't feeling well, and wanted to rest on the couch with us. i just rolled my eyes, forgetting about the bad hot sauce. not even 5 minutes later, audrey said, i think i'm going to throw up. brian said run to the trash can, and i said no, run to the toilet. well, she is like me. a violent vomiter. and as soon as she reached the kitchen (which was good, since it has linoleum, not carpet), came the first wave. brian started laughing, which really made me mad, and i was yelling, run to the toilet! brian, help her! well, she continued on the the bathroom, but stopped short at the doorway, because the light was off. and then continued to throw up all over the floor again. and believe me it was gross. i struggled not to start throwing up myself, since i was already nauseous. she was covered, so i stripped her down, and put her in the shower while i let brian clean up the messes (since he was the one that thought it was funny that she didn't make it to the bathroom). once everything was cleaned up, we got her to bed and set up with a towel and trash can. that continued pretty much all night- poor baby. but she did improve, and only used the trash can, and not the floor. well, about an hour later, here comes zach. my tummy hurts. i'm gonna throw up. and here's where i get to where i am thankful. with his allergy, he has become an expert thrower- upper. he knows when he needs to, and he goes to the bathroom, and does it. no mess, no drama. so that night, unlike audrey, he goes and does his business in the toilet, and its no big deal. except for the fact that brian feels so bad for giving our kids bad (i mean really bad) hot sauce. luckily, the fun only lasted for the night, and the kids are good now.
